Battles, by @InFlames_SWE

In Flames has really transitioned away from the Swedish metal I had grown accustomed to in favor of a progressive, accessible sound. When they first started making the new sound with Songs of a Playground Fading, I just thought it was a phase. Then Siren Charms released and really solidified the trend. With Battles, there’s probably no turning back.

But that’s okay. After all, variety is the spice of life.

One of the songs really grabbed my attention. It’s a bit of a metal ballad of sorts (maybe that’s taking it too far), and I put it in my Best of 2016 playlist—Wallflower. I think it is quite dynamic and worth a listen.

The Truth appears to be the one song on Apple Music claiming the popularity vote.

Have you listened to this album yet? Which songs did you really like?
